Music in the films has been a major success role for the production. Many early musicians like R. C. Boral, Punkaj Mullick, Ghulam Haider, Rafique Ghaznavi gave great music creating many memorable melodies. When playback became the dominant system, musicians were able to utilize best of talent in singing. Khemchand Prakash, Anil Buiswas, Ghulam Haider, Shyam Sunder, Naushad, C. Ramchandra, Ghulam Muhammad, Shanker Jaikishan, Roshan, Madan Mohan, S. D. Burman, and other created all those immortal melodies that are expected not to lose their appeal ever in time.

Pakistan
Music in the films plays a major success role for the production. Many early musicians like Firoze Nizami (Jugnu, 1944), Khursheed Anwar (Saigal & Suraiya's Parwana, 1946), Master Inayat Hussain, Rashid Attre, Tasadduq Hussain, Nisar Bazmi, and later joined by Nashad (Bara Dari, 1956), established a good base for Pakistan's film music. They created large number of immortal melodies that have not lost their appeal with the passage of long time.
